The Windsor Hotel adorns downtown Americus, Georgia. The Queen Anne style hotel opened its doors in 1892 in hopes of drawing winter residents/visitors from the northeast. Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered a speech in the hotel's dining room just prior to becoming governor of New York in 1928. The hotel still retains its architectural elegance hosting guests from around the world.
